SELF-GUIDED TOURS
Self-Guided Ski Weeks
Self-guided stays at Purcell Mountain Lodge are intended for experienced backcountry skiers who are comfortable travelling and making decisions independently in a remote mountain environment.
The terrain surrounding the lodge includes avalanche terrain, alpine hazards, and complex route-finding. All members of a self-guided group should be competent in avalanche safety, navigation, terrain assessment, and mountain decision-making. Guests are solely responsible for their own trip planning, risk management, and daily travel decisions. If your group is uncertain about its experience level or ability to safely manage backcountry hazards, we strongly recommend booking a guided trip.
Availability
Self-guided bookings are limited to designated early-season dates. During the main winter season, Purcell Mountain Lodge operates primarily as a guided lodge, and self-guided stays are generally not available.
In some years, limited late-season self-guided opportunities may be considered based on operational requirements, snow conditions, and lodge availability. Guests interested in a late-season self-guided booking should contact Operations Manager Jackie Mah at jackie@purcellmountainlodge.com to discuss availability.
Please Note: Self-guided access is intentionally limited at Purcell Mountain Lodge. Guests seeking a self-guided experience should plan for the designated early-season self-guided weeks. Guided programs remain our primary offering throughout the winter and spring season.
